By-Laws of The Green Ring Approved on this day the Feb of 1st 2004 Meetings Meetings will be: 1) 1st Sunday of every month there will be a Luncheon (2-4pm) and a closed Executive Committee Meeting after the Luncheon. All meetings will be held in Little Rock/North Little Rock area. 2) 3rd Sunday of each month there will be a Spiritual Meeting that will be held in the Little Rock/North Little Rock area. This is a private meeting and only members are allowed to attend. 3) Exceptions to the meeting locations are in case there is a field trip or a Sabbat with another group. The Membership All members will be required to pay a yearly due of $5.00 by Feb. 16. This is to supplement costs of events, charitable contributions, maintenance, operating costs, etc. Any members joining after February of a given year will have to renew in February of the following year with all other members. Members who have not paid their dues do not get the benefit of a paid member and a member in good standing. Any member joining in the quarter of the Green Ring year will not be required to pay dues, but has all privileges of a Member in Good Standing. Membership privileges are suspended on March 1 of each year to all members who have not paid their renewal dues, until those dues are paid. Members in good standing are allowed to vote on any and all issues requiring a vote. Members are asked and encouraged to assist or volunteer if and whenever possible. All members are allowed to bring a one time guest to a meeting. All guests should approved by an officer of the Executive Committee. This is to decide if the topic is acceptable for new members. Members are responsible for the actions of the guests that they bring. All members can bring guests to the Meet N Greet. Meet N Greets are open to everyone that would like to attend. Minors between the ages of 15 and 18 may attend unaccompanied by a parent or guardian is said parent or guardian has attended at least TWO meetings, has signed a parent release form, and has signed a form signifying that they have read and understood the Constitution and By-laws of the Green Ring. Any minor child under the age of 18, who does not have a parental release form on file, may attend if accompanied by parent or guardian at all times. Members that resign their membership are not allowed to rejoin The Green Ring for the period of 1 year from resigning. A member in good standing is any individual that has completed the following: Paid dues and has attended at least 6 meetings. Signed and returned a copy of the by-laws in person at a Green Ring meeting to the Co-Facilitator. Is over the age of 18 or, if between the ages of 15-17, has their signed parental consent, which has been verified by at least one of officers The exemptions to this rule are in the health, military, college, and job related issues or if travel (this is on a case by case basis for the Executive Committee to decide.) Conduct: Members are expected to conduct themselves as responsible adults in all matters. Treat other members and property as you would like to be treated. Be respectful, courteous, and kind. If something is not yours, don’t mess with it without permission from the owner. If you break something - notify the owner immediately. If you see an unsafe/dangerous situation or action, bring it to the attention of the Facilitator or other Executive Council member immediately. If a member has been found by the executive committee to be disruptive to the group, he/she will be issued a warning for their behavior. If the member does not rectify his/her behavior then he/she will be put on probation by the executive committee using absolute rule for a minimum of 30 days. If that person would like to be removed from probation then they should officially petition the Facilitator in writing and the board will take a vote on the person. No member can be on probation more than twice in one year. A participant/member may be asked to leave (expulsion) if their behavior is disruptive, intolerable and threatening due to stalking, unwanted advances, or general conduct as determined by the Executive Committee. If expulsion is found to be necessary, a member may be expelled from the group for a period of one year. The disclipinary actions are on a case by case basis and the Executive Committee will determine which disciplinary action fits the action that was committed. (If the action was severe the Executive Committee might decide not to give a warning letter or a probationer period, this includes but not limited to expulsion for threats or anything else deemed harmful by the Executive Committee) A member of the Executive Committee cannot remain on the Executive Committee if they are on probation or expelled. If a member is put on probation or expelled then that member cannot be on the Committees until their probation or expulsion is over. If a member does volunteer to work on a specific project, that member is asked to be sure they can commit the time and energy needed. Don’t back out at the last minute. If you quit a committee, either appointed or elected, with less than a 30 day notice you will not be allowed on another committee for a period of on year. Anything that is done before or after the Green Ring meetings are considered personal matters and will be treated as such. There are two Yahoogroups. The Coven Of The Green Ring is only for communications between members of The Green Ring and the rules on that group are different than the rules on The Green Ring Business. The Green Ring Business Yahoogroup is governed by this Constitution and Bylaws. Donations Any donations must be accepted by the treasurer or a representative appointed by the treasurer. These will be placed into the account of The Green Ring and will be used as determined by the membership, unless otherwise specified by the donor (example: if Bob wants $2000 to be donated for the construction of a temple, then that money would have to be set aside for that sole purpose). Properties Anything purchased for or by The Green Ring belongs to The Green Ring, no member shall be able to take these as their own, or use them in a way that is not beneficial to The Green Ring. If an individual allows The Green Ring to utilize a Property of theirs, than that individual retains responsibility for that Property. This property in no way becomes the property of The Green Ring. The physical holdings (non-financial) of The Green Ring will be monitored and regulated by the Treasurer and the Secretary. Voting All members in good standing have the right to vote in general assembly Voting can be done at any meeting with the approval of the Committee/s that the topic pertains to and the Facilitator overseeing. Committees Any individual that commits to working on a committee will be responsible for the development of that committee’s task. Committees are an important part of The Green Ring, and due to its high amount of civic engagement, these committees must conduct themselves in an appropriate and professional manner. The facilitator can and will call special floating committees as needed and must appoint a chair to those committees. All committee chairs, with permission from the co-facilitator, may create a special sub-committee if there is a demonstrated need for it. The Co-facilitator/Committee Whip or the Facilitator may request a status report from any committee at any time. If it is shown that a floating committee is no longer needed, the Co-facilitator/Committee Whip or the Facilitator may disband it. Members of floating committees will be appointed by that floating committee’s chair. When there is not enough membership participation of committees, it is the committee chair’s responsibilities to ensure that the actions of the committee are carried out or report back to the group that the said actions cannot be done. Removal from Committees: a. Unless members are appointed to committees by vote, the Chair of each committee can appoint and remove members as necessary to the efficient running of each committee - following the guidelines of the Constitution and By-Laws. b. Members appointed by vote, can be removed from a committee by the members present of The Green Ring. Resource List a. The yahoogroups list is also a means for those who cannot attend regular meetings to keep up to date on meetings, topics, activities, and changes. b. Pagan Relief Fund c. The Green Ring is in no way liable or responsible for the actions of an individual member who may choose to engage in such illegal activities.
